Working within the existing 1950s slab on grade footprint had its challenges, but the owners trusted our team to create a brighter, more inviting space updated to their desired design aesthetic. To achieve this result, we added several beams to open up the living spaces as well as reconfigured many of the windows, including the riverfront wall of windows as well as the wrap-around corner windows. This transformation was a collaboration with Duffield Design and the result is a clean, modern design incorporating warm natural oak elements to contrast with the white slab cabinetry. The modified layout allows for gathering around the updated gas fireplace with the stunning custom white oak hearth and bench. Our structural and mechanical problem-solving skills were showcased in this remodel including our primary bath shower “tower” and bench to work around radiant heat and plumbing restrictions. We utilized all of the height of this space to make it feel much larger than the actual square footage. Valentino Designs was able to execute a beautiful design from the structural elements to the custom carpentry and tile for this riverfront transformation!
