These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of We Build West Michigan ("WeBuild," "we," "our," or "us"), including our websites, event pages, company directory, inspiration galleries, ticket access tools, AI assistant, and related services. By using WeBuild, you agree to these Terms.

This is a practical draft for the WeBuild program and should be reviewed by legal counsel before publication.

1. About WeBuild

WeBuild helps connect West Michigan consumers with builders, contractors, design professionals, home-related businesses, event organizers, and inspiration resources. We may display event entries, sponsor information, company profiles, photos, maps, guidebooks, articles, awards, offers, and other content provided by participating organizations, companies, users, or third-party sources.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You may use WeBuild only if you can legally agree to these Terms. Some features may require an account, ticket, email confirmation, or other access credential. You are responsible for keeping your account and access information secure and for activity that occurs through your account or device.

3. Consumer Use

Consumers may use WeBuild to browse events, discover companies, save content, view inspiration, unlock ticketed media, and submit inquiries. You agree to provide accurate information when submitting forms or requesting contact from a professional.

WeBuild is a discovery and connection platform. We do not guarantee that any builder, contractor, designer, or other professional is available, licensed for your project, insured, qualified, or the right fit for your needs. You are responsible for evaluating professionals, checking credentials, reviewing contracts, and making your own hiring decisions.

4. Professionals, Organizations, and Event Participants

If you submit or manage company, organization, sponsor, event, ticket, award, project, photo, or listing content, you represent that you have the rights and authority to provide that content and to allow WeBuild to display and use it in connection with the service.

You are responsible for keeping your listings accurate, honoring applicable laws and advertising rules, and ensuring that photos, logos, claims, prices, availability, event details, and contact information are current and appropriate.

5. Tickets and Restricted Content

Some event content, including photos or digital materials, may be available only to ticket holders or authorized users. You agree not to bypass access controls, share ticket codes inappropriately, scrape restricted media, or redistribute restricted content without permission.

6. AI Assistant and Matching Tools

WeBuild may provide AI-assisted search, project matching, suggestions, summaries, or planning tools. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your specific situation. You should independently verify important information before relying on it, especially for pricing, code, safety, legal, financial, construction, or contracting decisions.

7. Content Ownership and License

WeBuild, participating organizations, companies, licensors, and users may each own different content displayed on the platform. Except as allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit site content without permission.

When you submit content to WeBuild, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, resize, format, distribute, and otherwise use that content to operate, market, and improve the WeBuild program and related websites.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use WeBuild for unlawful, misleading, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
  • Submit content that infringes another party's rights or violates privacy, publicity, or intellectual property laws.
  • Attempt to bypass ticket access, login, security, or rate-limiting controls.
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content without permission.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the service.
  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, qualifications, or authority.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

WeBuild may link to or integrate with third-party services, including app stores, payment processors, event organizers, professional websites, mapping services, analytics providers, and social platforms. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, availability, or practices.

10. No Professional Advice

Content on WeBuild is provided for general informational and discovery purposes. It is not professional, legal, financial, engineering, architectural, insurance, or construction advice. Consult qualified professionals before making project, safety, legal, or financial decisions.

11. Disclaimers

WeBuild is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that content will always be accurate, complete, or current. Event details, ticket terms, company information, photos, prices, awards, and availability may change.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WeBuild and its owners, operators, partners, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, project delays, contractor disputes, or hiring decisions arising from your use of the service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold WeBuild harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another party's rights.

14. Changes to the Service or Terms
